Put a Ring on It: 4 Creative Wedding Proposal Ideas

August 28th, 2015 | Posted by Editor in Weddings

Looking for a wedding proposal idea is tough, but thinking of a unique proposal? It’s definitely one of the most difficult things to do. Sure, the traditional ways of proposing like putting the ring in a champagne glass, getting down on one knee at a beautiful park or proposing at Christmas Eve are sweet and lovely, but why stick with these cliché ideas when you can be unique and creative with it. So as you start working on your engagement plans, I encourage you to veer off the usual path and consider using any of these unique wedding proposal ideas instead.

  1. A Scavenger Hunt. In this proposal idea, set up some of the most meaningful places for you and your girl as the stops for your scavenger hunt. After that, send your girl along with some of her friends to visit the places that you chose. A good sample is having her attend a salon appointment, then making another stop at her favourite boutique so that she can pick a dress for your proposal. Once the scavenger hunt is over, set the final spot in a place with a romantic view and have your proposal there. One important thing: Make sure that you leave out notes that clearly describes the places she should be visiting.
  1. A Movie Trailer. Since it’s become a lot easier to make and edit videos these days, then creating a movie trailer can be a really great proposal idea. You can choose from doing Disney montages, movie trailers and a lot more. All you’ve got to do is creatively record a video of yourself at some of the places that meant something to your relationship, and tell her why these places meant so much to you. Once the video is done, you’ll now decide whether you’re going to show it at home, at a dinner with family and friends, or even at the local movie theatre in your area.

  1. A Trivia Game. Another unique way to propose to you girl is through trivia games. Plan a game night alone or with your circle of friends. When it’s your girlfriend’s turn to answer, head over to her sit and say, “Your question is: Will you marry me?” Make sure that you make an actual trivia card so that you’ll have a proposal memory to hold on to.
  1. A Book Author Proposal. Proposing to a bookworm? Then there’s no better way to do it than to ask her favourite author to sign her favourite book with “Will you marry, ____ (your name)”. Once you’ve accomplished this part, ask her out on a dinner date and give the book to her as a gift. With this, you’ll be able to keep a memento of your proposal forever.

Just like with marriage, a proposal is also an important part of starting a new phase in your relationship. So make sure that make it extra sweet and memorable by doing it creatively.
